The fourth PBR Bull Team event of the season took place in Birmingham, Ala. on March 14-15. Five teams were entered and the one that emerged victorious, and $10,000 richer, was Mandan Mafia.

Mandan Mafia’s Say I Won’t Gunner (44.5), Big Tex (45.75) and All In (46.5) combined to earn 136.75 points—the highest team score of the entire season to date.  In the championship round Ryan McConnel rode Say I Won’t for 90.5  points in the short go, assisting him in his first Built Ford Tough Series event win. Zack Brown couldn’t make the whistle on Big Tex and All In dumped Aussie Pete Farley.

Teague Bucking Bulls, who is now second in the average event score for the Bull Team Challenge, finished three points behind Mafia. Teague’s Bones (2008 World Champion Bucking Bull) and I’m a Gangster both earned scores of 45.5, third team member Deja Blu had a 42.75. Bones dumped Mike Lee in the short go while teammate I’m A Gangster bucked off rising star Skeeter Kingsolver.

Lone Star Bulls was third with 131.75. Circle T was a half-point behind them and Mac-Nett Industries was fifth with 131. Lone Star’s bulls earned a 43 (Red Dirt Road), 44.5 (Big Iron) and Nasty Mike (44.25). Nasty Mike beat Renato Nunes in the short go; Wiley Petersen covered Big Iron for 89.25 to take second in the short go and to finish third overall.

Circle T Ranch’s  Ft. Worth and Rowdy Houdlum each had 44.75s; Frosty earned a 41.75. Shane Proctor only got to 3 seconds on Rowdy Houdlum.  Frosty bucked of Ross Coleman in round two in 2.5 seconds while Ft. Worth did the same to Mike White at the 3.8 second mark in that same round.

For Mac-Nett Industries, Voodoo Child  earned a big 45, followed by Chicken on a Chain (2007 World Champion Bucking Bull) with 44.5 and SkyHawk Cut-A-Rug with 41.5. Voodoo Child beat two-time PBR World Champion Chris Shivers, while Chicken bucked off Travis Briscoe. SkyHawk bucked off Lee in round two, maintaining the bull’s unridden status but scoring well below the bull’s average score of 44.
