Page 1 of 4 Day to day, we never know what problem may present itself when dealing with bucking stock, or for that matter, any bovine in the production sector. In this article, we would like to address the different routes of injection, preferred sites of drug administration and a consideration of some drugs commonly used in the treatment of cattle and the effects these may have at an injection site. Quality assurance, a catch phrase commonly used in marketing channels these days, is a real consideration in beef production as we try to insure the consumer gets the very best product available. Injection site reactions and damage caused from improperly administered drugs not only detract from the meat products, but also may cause severe discomfort for the animal they were intended to help.
