He may not actually spit fire, but Boyd/Floyd’s 309 bull does spit off some pretty hot PBR talent.
At the 2008 PBR World Finals, Spitfire bucked off all of his cowboys: Travis Briscoe in Round 2, Harve Stewart in Round 4 and Colby Yates in the championship round. While the cowboys all earned zeros, the judges marked Spitfire 45.75, 45.75 and 46 respectively. Those scores helped take Spitfire to fourth in the PBR World Champion Bucking Bull final standings. |

Alex Naccarato’s All In definitely has it all: Bloodlines, bucking ability and big numbers. “He came out of an Oscar’s Velvet cow. As far as his daddy — who knows? We put a bunch of bulls on our cows all the time, and there is always one jumping the fence anyway,” explained Naccarato. “Stuff happens!”

This issue's superstar is a no-brainer — Tom Teague's Bones. The 5-year-old bull was one of Cody Lambert's All-Star picks for the PBR World Finals as well as one of the cowboys' top 5 picks for World Champion Bucking Bull.
Bones faced stiff competition. In order to prove Cody and the cowboys' opinions correct, he needed to out-perform four other superstars in Las Vegas: Troubadour, Copperhead Slinger, All In and Spit Fire. |

Anyone that has participated in or followed the bucking bull industry knows one thing — there sure is a lot of black & white out there.
It’s out there in our pastures, out there in the arena, filling our registry and definitely in the winner’s circle. Although some of us know the immediate origin of these white hides highlighted by black noses, eye-rims, hooves and horn tips, few know the ancient history behind the distinctive color pattern. Sure, the majority of our buckers with these features have Tom Harlan and Charlie Plummer to thank immediately, but believe it or not, their story goes back into antiquity nearly 2,000 years. |
