Avalanche
Diamond S's Avalanche from the Lone Star Bull Team.
Lone Star Bulls started their PBR Bull Challenge season by making a statement — 224 points and $20,000. The team, made up of Diamond S buckers and one Beutler & Son bull, had strong and consistent players.

“It was exciting to finally get to bring our team out. We knew we had a good team and they stepped up and proved themselves this week,” said Diamond S's Scott Pickens. “Everybody did a great job. Avalanche really stood out and Hot Stuff is great every time he bucks and with Voodoo on your team, you know you're good.” Both Voodoo Child (Beutler) and Avalanche (Diamond S) earned scores of 46 from the judges.

Diamond S owner David Simpson didn't have much to add about his team's victory, but his huge smile from ear-to-ear spoke volumes. “It is great!” Simpson affirmed.

Simpson's wife Aimee and their family made the trip down from Texas to watch the bulls first team event, as did Pickens' wife Kelly, making the victory even more enjoyable for the Diamond S family.

Six teams competed in Albuquerque, N.M. over the three-day Ty Murray Invitational. With team bulls bucking in every round, from the first to the short-go, fans and owners had to wait until the very end to find out which team came out on top. Lone Star Bulls, with two bulls in round two and three in the short-go was able to earn one more point than D&H/Enlow/Gilbert, whose 223 earned them their second $10,000 for their second second-place finish of the season. D&H's highest scoring team member was Jacob's Pet, who also won the ABBI Classic event held the first day of competition.

In third was Ron White's Comedy Tour with 220.25. Little Big Man, with a 45.5, and Nervous Waters, with a 45, brought serious scores to the funny man's team. Red Horns were fourth with 218.25, followed by ExclusiveGenetics.com with 215. Spit Fire and Holy Moly both earned scores in the 45s for the Reds, while the 44-point Leprechaun was the high scorer for Exclusive.

Boyd-FloydBullCo.com was sixth with 214, but would have finished near the very top if it wasn't for a very off trip for The Game, who earned just 34.5. All their other team bulls earned scores between 44.5 and 45.25.

Omaha will be the second team event for Lone Star and Pickens said that they hope to keep their momentum and win again. “We are going to stick with the winners,” said Pickens. “But we'll make adjustments later on if we have to.”
